All left last week, and tonight the flocks of Pink Footed Geese arrived, Winter is coming!

Think we get Autumn about late April up here and then Autumn and winter fight it out till the first snow!

Our swallows managed two broods this year, but they have now all gone - just the mess they left behind to clean up - it does stick to the windows and tiles.

All the pots emptied of annual plants late last week and everything is getting ready for being put away until next year.

We get alot of Swifts near us and I love to hear them screeching overhead. Ours joined together with about a hundred others from around the area and did a fantastic screeching fly around above my house before
they set off to be seen again next April/May time. There wasnt as many this year but they seemed to have alot of babies which was good. Dont think the constant rain helped. Had to bring my green tomatoes in so must be the dreaded Winter on its way.

I have a tree in my garden, thats almost lost all its leaves already...!

Swallows are one of my favourite birds, they are such a devoted family, feeding their young up even though they are as big as themselves, ready for the big flight at the end of the season.
I followed this family till and after they fledged.

Just fledged!

Some good shots there Arthur. The swallows at my mate's farm haven't left yet as they got a late start, but hopefully they won't leave it too much longer....
