Re: Perks of the job

I was working in the marine engineering business and we used to do back door work for the Trawlermen and when we got the job off quick they would bring us in a basket full of top rated fresh fish crabs and Lobsters, those were the days

Re: Perks of the job

From in my 20s I always had a company car which was a real perk in those days....not so much now though in fact having one can be a liability.

Re: Perks of the job

For a few years I worked in an outdoor equipment/camping shop
I got staff discount on all my hiking & backpacking gear & clothing

Then I worked for Boots and got staff discount in their shops, and others in the group; Halfords was one, I forget the others
We also had clearance items sold off in the staff shop at very cheap prices

Re: Perks of the job

The perks of my job are with me still.

Anywhere I travel, in the US or abroad, if I need any kind of help, assistance, or advice, my coworkers will respond within a half hour. They will contact whoever is necessary to be sure my needs are met. I feel safe and secure at all times.

I worked with the New York State Police. Law enforcement becomes your extended family and stays that way whether you are still employed or not. They take care of their own. It's a comfort when you are single and on your own.

Bottle of wine and Quality Street chocs at Christmas usually.

We get a bonus if Sales hit their targets, which is an, erm, bonus.

That's about it.

Re: Perks of the job

Hi

Cheap meat, wholesale prices, when I was younger, still have access to that.

Ex Works Cars, immaculate, cheap as chips, serviced from here to Kingdom come.

All automatics, ideal for me.

No speeding tickets, no parking tickets.

The vagaries of the system, I have now to pay for speeding, but not for parking.

A special passport number, in and out quickly.

A flag on my house, any incident, an armed response unit.

Index linked, tax free pension and a right to move and live in any EU or Five Eyes Country.

I am content with life.
