If you get yourself a domain name and email setup from an external provider then you can set up accounts for each provider eg tesco @ mydomain.com - this allows you to filter on incomming addresses and you also know who has "sold on" your email addresses
Paragraph 1 is of interest, must check that out.

Paragraph 2, I'm with ionos.

so with your Ionos account you may have set up an email like <your_name> @ <your_ionos_domain>

looking at Ionos sales website, you are allowed other addresses like <your_partners_name> @ <your_ionos_domain> or <my_tesco> @ <your_ionos_domain> - this is a typical feature because the mailbox is normally linked to the domain name

You should be able to pick up both sets of emails with one email client and see which ones are to each incomming address

Issue a different local address (the bit before the @) to each online retailer and just give out your personal email to trusted people like friends and family

If you leave an online retailer then just delete the email address (normally this causes any incomming emails to drop off or be kicked out as spam)

Yes, that's how mine works.

Another thing that might be relevant or useful with Gmail is that you can add information in the address. For example

billsmith+blog@gmail.com

billsmith+tesco@gmail.com

billsmith+web@gmail.com

will all arrive at the billsmith@gmail.com address.

It can be handy determining the source of an email, for example I have several websites with clickable email addresses and use this to determine which email came from which site or it can be used to filter out spam.

Thanks for that.

The main cause of my interest, in anonaddy, is that nobody else ever gets to see any part of my email addresses.

Thus, there is nothing to sell on, nothing to pass up the scam chain, nothing to hack. The only thing left to worry about would be the anonaddy site, itself, which must be where the recoding of the email addresses must take place

Hence my enquiry & looking for users (of anonaddy) for comments.

I'll be diving in during the next few days.
