Cooking with quorn.

I was chatting to my daughter today and she mentioned a chicken curry she'd made the other day using quorn chicken pieces. Her son (my grandson Jason) commented on how nice the chicken was. This surprised me because Jason loves his meat so it must be good!!
I thought I might try cooking with quorn myself.

I wondered if anybody on here uses it and if so - what do you think of it?

I use the Quorn packet meats and they are really tasty particularly the peppered steaks and southern fried escalopes

Sister-in-law regularly cooks with this. Not so long ago she made a delicious lasagne, apart from her immediate family none of us knew it wasn't minced meat.

I have tried quorn in various recipes, don't like it at all - find it much too sweet.

I have cooked with it in the past. The pieces were done with rice and a sauce, so doing a chicken swap, and I also liked the Southern Fried burgers...nice in a bun.

It can be quite filling.

Not eaten it for a long time now. Like with any food, you get fed up with it after awhile.

I have cooked with it too. I like some of the "meat" type things.
I do find it seems to get dry very quickly so the mince has to
have some good amount of liquid to it. I am like Jazzi I get bored
with it after a while. Couldn't eat it everyday.

Re: Cooking with quorn.

Being veggie I use quorn a lot . The pieces are nice in a curry etc
When I first started using the quorn mince for chilli ,bolognese etc I did find it was quite different and the texture is different too but I persevered and now I love it . The Southern style burgers are great in a bun too .

I tried the peppered steak and we liked it. I've now got some Quorn mince and going to make a stew with it next week with dumplings.
