Circumnavigating Australia

I am now home - arrived here on the early afternoon of Thursday 22nd June 2017. Another night travelling through inland NSW was not a pleasant thought - fine during the day and warm in bed at night but too cold in the morning (7'C).

Statistics

Total Distance: 16802 Kilometres
Total Fuel: 1705 Litres Diesel
Total Fuel Cost: $2361 (Average = $1.38/l)
Total Accommodation Cost: $1932
Length of trip: 63 days

Highlights

Click on the links for a description and photos:

Horizontal Falls
The Bungle Bungles
Undara Lava Tubes
Wave Rock
The Pinnacles
Crossing the Nullarbor

I picked out those particular visits as highlights but in truth every day was wonderful. Just driving through the Australian bush is an experience in itself the scenery is so varied it is just never boring.

Apart from a couple of days in SA the weather was fine, horizon to horizon blue skies. Perfect temperatures both day and night together with low humidity (25% or less). Bliss.

I forgot to say - divide $ cost by 2 for £

Close enough anyway.

Oh yes - click on photos in blog for full size version.

Apart from filling up the fuel tank (700kms) when ever I could I also carried 20 litres of diesel (200km) and 30 litres of drinking water.
