Lottery Habit

Does anyone apart from me now do the Lottery out of habit, ignoring the statistics, I can see the initial attraction for a potential £1 stake the opportunity to scoop a £7.5 million jackpot, but that was 1994, we are 20 years on, as it stands today, the stake has doubled to £2, and tonight's jackpot is £2.1 million, is there a bottom line where anyone will stop participating?.
In 1994 the jackpot would have bought 110 average family homes, today the jackpot finances 8.

Re: Lottery Habit

I don't do the Lottery at all Paul

I am a 'bird in the hand' kind of person preferring to spent any spare money I might have on a little treat like some nuts or flowers rather than on something I will be unlikely ever to see

Re: Lottery Habit

I still do it Spittie even though I've no chance it is a habit now
If you bought all the games available every week, you'd have to have a few bob and little sense

Re: Lottery Habit

I would only buy a ticket if I had money to burn, which I don't. And then, of course, I wouldn't need to buy a ticket anyway...
(But probably would, and any winnings could go to a good charity)

Re: Lottery Habit

I have never done the lottery and don't intend to. Certainly never bought a scratchcard either.

Re: Lottery Habit

I did it for about a year when it first started and after winning about two £10 I gave it up as a bad job.

Re: Lottery Habit

I stopped when it went up to £2, but get a lucky dip very occasionally, or if the Euro millions has a high jackpot. But even then I won't always bother...it is very occasionally.

Re: Lottery Habit

Gave up on the basic lottery a long time ago, still indulge occasionally on the Euromillions, 2 wins this year amounting to about £20
