Do you think you're overweight?

I doubt you're as overweight as some of my customers.
The local newspaper did an article about us. This is me with hubby & son. The trousers are 70" waist and the shoe that Adrian is holding is a size 19.

Happy memories - all gone now - We loved our working life - did you?

No. The work was boring, the bureaucracy ridiculous and the coffee was vile.

I have never seen work as a separate entity, at the start it affords a social lifestyle, in the middle it provides a necessary family income, towards the end, it keeps the cogs ticking over, it's OK, wouldn't say I loved it.

I was over weight - been dealing with it all year - have lost two stone. Would like to lose another one but it is not essential.

As for work - it went from being enjoyable and worthwhile to being something hateful that I couldn't wait to escape from - took early retirement and have never looked back.

Congratulations ST! Well done to you!

I need to lose some poundage....one of these days!

Work-wise, I had to leave due to an ongoing medical problem. All I miss about it is the camaraderie.

Re: Do you think you're overweight?

I mostly enjoyed work, but I hated the office politics. I did get rather overweight, mainly to working abroad, good hotels and generous expenses.

After taking early retirement, I lost 23 kg. Now I feel great - unless I go to the health centre where I find that anyone heavy enough to even register on scales is morbidly obese .

What a great photo Carol, was that your shop? That was one large customer and a size 19 shoe ........
Your working life certainly looks interesting.

I enjoyed my early working life back in the days when you could take breaks and eat your lunch etc and the pace of life was a lot slower.

When I see how hard my children work with no breaks and unpaid overtime and low wages I realise how different it is now.

Re: Do you think you're overweight?

Its a double question for us Carol. I liked work when I was younger
but not as I reached 60. As mentioned the politics in the office
where I worked was terrible and your bonus depended on the whim
of overpaid guys who didn't flinch when they took your targets away
from you but still paid themselves big bucks.
I did gain some weight but I was only thin to start with. I like my
bit of fat as it keeps me warm in Winter. Hope everyone enjoys
their retirement, I certainly have.
My thoughts on those trousers are that someone who wore them
had to pile tons of food into them to get to that size. No exercise.
What do you expect.
Nice photo Carol and you did enjoy your work which is great.

Yes it was our shop Anita. It was a struggle building it up. It really didn't take off until we started catering to outsize people.
Yes we had some big customers.
