They gave up on the polls that don't suit their agenda years ago.
So long as any poll fits their bias it will be exaggerated and foisted upon the few gullible that still pay heed to Auntie Beeb - that few which is still declining in number, according to recent research.

Re: Sky News ...

Okay so this is BBC not Sky but it's probably bettter here than in a new thread - and it was reported on Sky, it says:
"Britain is to name former Goldman Sachs banker Richard Sharp as the next chairman of the BBC, Sky News reported on Wednesday."
https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-br...KBN29B198?il=0

This guy's been acting as an advisor to Rishi Sunak, it says.
Will this herald an era of real change at the BBC?

I doubt it

The BBC can't be reformed, its a London centric, institutional echo chamber for the woke left.

The best that can happen is that would be forced to find a better and more honest way of funding itself.

If and when that happens, and if it continues to follow its existing preferences, it will end up being a very minority-interest TV channel.

The first is really what I meant earlier; having a new chairman who would appear to be attuned to current government stance would suggest that acceptance of proposed funding change is imminent.

Oh and with only one-third of viewers seeing the BBC as representing their standpoint it would seem that the BBC as far as TV is concerned is already a minority-interest channel.

Yes, I'm sure it is.

Actually, I find it a shame really because the old BBC used to produce some excellent programmes, like Downton Abbey for example. Of course, many such programmes were, and still are, produced by independent companies and paid for by the BBC.

Excellent!

Not only a new, unbiased (or possibly right-wing biased?) news service, but also available without the need for the BBC Tax.

I have been watching Euronews which, although presumably owned or produced somewhere in the EU, is surprisingly unbiased at least from what I have seen so far.
That, too, is available using my Fire Stick, so no need for an aerial or TV licence.
