The alternative to a monarchy such as Britain has is not communism or socialism, it is a republic.
A little off topic but the trustworthy British royals at the time could have saved the Russian Royal family .
The Russians didn’t want to kill the Tzar and his family at first and they could have been exiled to the uk.
George V refused sanctuary to his lookalike cousin because he feared it might incite the peasants here .
What a hero !

You might as well ask: Why do very Rich Celebrities and Show Biz people get all all the best advertising work on TV?

George Clooney and others like him do not need the money or deserve it, especially when there are many Actors waiting for work.
And, they are often very good Actors as well.

That was tragic.

However. later millions or Russians were the murdered
or sent to the Salt Mines by Stalin if they dare speak out about the Government

I wonder if the British public would welcome a Dictator instead of the Royal Family.
They do cost money but also bring in £millions to visit the Royal Palaces and Changing of The Guard etc

It is a fact that people seem to need to worship someone or something.

There have always been idols even the Sun.

From the start of Creation people put others on pedestals to worship, usually choosing the most attractive charismatic
people.

It still goes on today.

For every serious thread or post there's always another that gives a laugh or brings on a wry smile. From what I've seen there's hardly ever a dull moment, that's for sure!

No I didn't, I asked

"How would you feel Floydy if I said well Floydy is supposed to work nights, but how can he be working if he spends a lot of time on an over 50's forum?"

I was merely demonstrating that it is easy to form a wrong opinion from a limited amount of information, and you knew nothing about what they had done for the money. You can't be angry at what I posted, when your post about them did exactly the same!

"They appear on the news to make it look like they are 'doing their job for society' by shaking handswith the homeless as they climb back into their limousines and helicopters which then ferry them around to their executive boxes at major sporting events.

Phoney bastards all".

I don't want to argue, just point out that you didn't understand what I said!

Russians had suffered under the Czar too . In the days of the motor cr and the telephone Russians suffered great hardship under serfdom while the Russian royal family was fabulously rich .
Nicholas 11 was at that time the richest man in the world .

The royal palaces etc don’t need a royal family in them to attract tourists . Look at France which has more tourists than the UK
