Re: Motivation

I'm finding it seriously hard to cycle now that I've lost my cycling partner (brother) due to ill health. We used to be a prod for each other to get out. Now I can't be bothered. It's not the same cycling on my own. A new/different partner wouldn't be the same.

That must be hard if you get used to someone's company whilst doing a sport of some kind, then they stop. I suppose they become part of the experience.

Yes, as older cyclists, we rode the tracks together for about 22 years. We always knew it would have to come to an end one day though.

Like what happened to you on the Slimming Thread, you never came back?
Hi Susie.
No I decided I'm not really slimming! I just watch my diet a little more these days, so I sorta gave up on that thread. Sorry

I'm sorry to hear that, Mart, but I know how you feel about cycling by yourself. Some people are happy being on their own, but it's that other person you need to arrange times and so on for a meet up which don't always happen.

Mart that's hard on you and I feel for you
I hope you can find the drive to go on your own, now and again
Maybe aim for one a week at first?

I don't know where I heard this..and I don't even know if it's true..
It takes 2 months to form a habit
But only 2 weeks to break one.
