Re: No more Little Britain

Maybe all this is very similar to a comedy from many years' ago that is also not to be found on BBC iPlayer. A very funny comedy at the time, in my opinion. Today though for PC reasons however, this humour seems to have a very different meaning. How times change:

This can still be found on You Tube, I did not post a link to this as I have no intention whatsoever of offending anyone.

Re: No more Little Britain

Where is this all going to end I wonder? Another one removed, not in this country but in the US:

"Gone with the Wind has been taken off HBO Max following calls for it to be removed from the US streaming service.

HBO Max said the 1939 film was "a product of its time" and depicted "ethnic and racial prejudices" that "were wrong then and are wrong today"."

It makes sense to me Baz.
My memory might be a little hazy but I don't recall any obligation to buy tickets and see the show.
Freedom of choice?

The strange thing is that Alf Garnett was deliberately made the butt of the humour because of his stupid prejudices. Rather like Love Thy Neighbour another sitcom that poked fun at the racial prejudices of the white husband towards the neighbors next door.

What about the snickers advert that suggests Elton John isn't cool because he is not a black rapper? I'm not a great fan of Elt but he has certainly achieved much in his career. I find that advert extremely racist and would like it removed.

I can't say that I'll miss Little Britain 'cos it went from being silly to being stupid in 3 series imho.
