Are these Bees or Wasps?

In the loft

They're not coming indoors (yet!) so maybe wait a bit and see if they leave any organic honey

What do you think they are?

You'll probably find a nest - they are fascinating things, beautifully engineered

Defo wasps Azz I'm afraid and but some folks (eg. me!) are allergic to their stings. There seems to be loads this year. I'd have a look on Yell.com for an exterminator if I were you.

Hard to tell from the pic, Azz, but suspect they're wasps. They're generally a bit slimmer than bees, and mostly not hairy. This link might help:

Trust them to be wasps!

I think the council here get rid of wasps for free... still not keen on killing them tho. I used to think they just 'smoked' them out and then sealed the hive/nest!

I guess they use a chemical spray? Could you smell it afterwards?

Are they likely to come in when it gets to the end of their season? If so I think it ought to be done, if not, let em live
