Agg chrismas 'tat' has arrived.

I live in a tiny hamlet out in the countryside with just a church and some houses.
A few neighbours put up outdoor Christmas decorations the odd light that kind of thing . One goes a bit over top with a gyrating Santa and reindeer with make Chloe growl when we pass. She doesn't like new or strange things in 'her' village

At the end of the lane is a decrepit bungalow, it sold recently I understand to a woman who is going to 'do it up'.
The front wall which was falling down has been removed and a porter cabin arrived last week so I guessed work was about to start.

I have just been out with Chloe and was surprised to see a gigantic snowman and other things had appeared on top of the porter cabin
There will be no looking at the night sky for weeks to come with this lot lit up. where do they think this is Disneyland ...

Meg, I could understand if this all started from December 1st onwards but November ..... it's a bit early really!!

Ah, but don't forget we are only a matter of 4 days away from December now. Time is whistling by.

It's the size of the thing that bothers me most a 6ft snowman on top of a porter cabin in the middle of the countryside I am hoping for a high wind

Meg invite TessA over one evening - I'm sure she could make good use of her poinker stick on the snowman, it would disappear with a gentle sigh

Just wonder if there are any little kids in the village who might really like that snowman.

Perhaps the woman is just trying to be nice and brighten things up a bit.
Who knows ?

Maybe a nice friendly welcoming chat might be a good idea
rather than getting all grumpy and negative ?

BTW, for the benefit of this poor dumb Aussie, what is a "porter cabin" ?
Is it what Wikki calls a 'portacabin' ?
