Should we ban Fairy Tales

I am talking about the fairy tales from our childhoods.

Sleeping Beauty, Goldilocks, Goldilocks, Hansel & Gretel etc.

It seems they are yet another target for the Politcally Correct Brigade.

It is totally wrong that Sleeping Beauty was kissed by her handsome Prince.

Why?
Because she was asleep at the time, so couldn't give her permission!
It is teaching kids it is OK to kiss a lady without permission!!

My view is, what about anyone who is asleep in 'real life' e.g. your children (heavens above, I will be thought a pervert for kissing children next). Is it creepy to kiss our kids goodnight if they are asleep?

What about someone ill in hospital that has drifted off asleep?
Have we got to wake them up to get permission to kiss them bye bye before we leave?

*

And another one. This ridiculous woman being interviewed says it is offensive and will give kids a 'body image' probolem, because all the Princesses in fairy tales are young, slim, and beautiful - and wait for it . . . . White !!

Can't these idiots see it is THEM and their politically correctness who will cause the kids to have insecurities?

Some fairy tales like religious ones, such as those featured in the Bible, can do more harm than good.

Care to name which 'Fairytales' are in the bible that bother you exactly? Or are you meaning the whole bible itself?

I'm totally with you on this Mupsy.
I loved my fairy tales when I was small.
I don't think for a minute that they gave me any strange ideas.
They will be attacking our Pantomimes next!

I don't know about that Sweetie.

After all, half the men dress as women and the women as men in panto's so it is bound to be approved of.

I suppose these idiots need something to do, to occupy their minds. Maybe one day they will get jobs and settle down with nice fellas.

Yes I suppose you are right.
Panto started with only a male cast in the very beginning.
I thought fairies were just fairies anyway.
Neither male or female, just magical.

NO! Don't say that for heavens sake Dongle.
Safer to just say "they will get jobs and settle down."

Perhaps we will have bar codes by then.
