Gift ideas

I'd really like to buy my sons a Christmas gift which they really, really like..............and are very impressed by (of course!). I wondered about something meaningful.......like one of the Tower of London poppies.......but what would they do with it????

Maybe we could all give a few ideas for gifts.......

Can"t help you , we now do secret Santa, put the names in the hat, pick out one and that is who you have to buy for, no more than £10.
makes life so easy , and don"t we all want an easy life?

You haven't said how old your sons are, Lindyloo ?

Have you a Debenham's near you? They have a fabulous range of biscuits in amazing tins. I have bought one shaped like a refrigerator, one like a transistor radio, and one like a juke box for some of my teenage relatives. Have a look on their website - under 'Gifts'.

They are 28 and 35. There isn't a debenhams here, but I can get to the north island to visit one.

Re: Gift ideas

Getting one of the Poppies sounds lovely Lindyloo, I have heard that they are going to keep them for a year now rather than sending them back this week because of the interest that there has been in them.

I only have my husband to buy a present for now so I let him pick out his own present, which makes it easier for me.

He has started collecting, trams, buses and some trains so I let him go on ebay and he got 3 buses that he wanted from there.

But good luck with buying for your lads it gets harder and harder doesent it.

Re: Gift ideas

We are a bit old fashioned only hand made pressies exchanged, some of the most appreciated have been list of vouchers for various things we are willing to do, an hours ironing, wash their car, lift home when they want to go out for a drink, could be anything you think they might like.

Re: Gift ideas

Buying for adults is a headache, we made a pact not to buy for adults at xmas, but spend extra for their birthdays instead.
If we didn't do that, I wouldn't mind Apricots idea instead, providing that we actually saw them over xmas, posting is another matter especially as postage is so expensive.
