Drawing Room ........
What did they do in that Drawing room of old - draw on the fire ? Doodle ? Join the dots ? Or was it a hobby room - such as sewing, needlecraft, tapestry ?In the old terrace houses back a bit, we had a front room, that was only used for special occasions - I loved that, when we could go in there

A drawing room is a room in a house where visitors may be entertained. The name is derived from the sixteenth-century terms withdrawing room and withdrawing chamber, which remained in use through the seventeenth century, and made their first written appearance in 1642.iv just learnt somin lol
