Cliches in films

Inspired by another thread, we have been giggling about the same old clichés in films
We have seen many times .................
Embittered cop
Embittered cop with drinking problem

Groups of two or three 'rushing' down a corridor with the main character exclaiming 'I don't have time for this now'

A cop being told - 'We're taking you off the case - you're too close to it'

Potential victim says to suspect 'I know you did it, I'm calling the police'

A woman on her own hears a noise and goes down to the cellar to investigate

Cop falls for murder suspect

Trying to get away - car never starts first time

These gave us the giggles this morning
Can you pinpoint any ?

When the baddie seems dead, he never is. He will always be allowed one, and sometimes two resurrections.

"We need to talk" seems to come up quite often.

Re: Cliches in films

I was looking at an old film last night Patsy and I was thinking how silly they all sound now, it was a murder case and up popped the usual “If only we had something to go on” “But we have very little to go on” You would think they had no toilets in the station “Put out an APB immediately” “We need a break in this case" and “We are getting a few leads” now all they have to do is ‘Collar’ a few dirty Dogs and tie them up with the leads. I do have to laugh, the missus thinks I’m going crackers when she spots me laughing at the parts that are supposed to be serious. God it was all so matter of fact back then.

Re: Cliches in films

Tis true what you say Jem - but we have so many more now with the newer films, they can't help themselves
My favourite films are those with good dialogue - they do exist
