Attractive female cops/DIs never wear sensible shoes

Re: Cliches in films

A couple of years ago a TV comedy sketch show (can't remember which one) did a spoof trailer for those all - American cop films that consist of endless shooting, explosions, violence & mayhem with minimal storyline; and which have several sequels
It was entitled

Really Miffed Cop 3

Re: Cliches in films

Despite having the support from vanloads of heavily armed uniformed officers and SWAT teams, when the villain is eventually traced to the disused factory, and usually at night, our Hero Detective is the only one to find him, in a suitably remote spot, and tackles him singlehandedly.

When they buy groceries there is always a loaf of French bread sticking out of the bag

If there is a large window in the scene, you can be sure someone will go through it

When the police investigate a cellar, apartment, or other building, why don't they ever turn the lights on?

When the police go to arrest someone in an apartment, why don't they ever station someone outside on the fire escape?
