I don't see what is so funny. What people are forgetting is that the U.S. space force personnel are working on the ground. They merely happen to have the same uniform as their fellow airmen who are not in the space force. Simple a case of saving money by not having entirely new uniforms.

I'm with you Bakerman.. Good camouflage is not funny.
Once they terraforma Mars and land some pilgrims on it they'll blend in fine.

And that's not as silly as it sounds ...
Didn't those poor souls in Space 1999 wear grey onesies to blend in with the lunar landscape ? ... Though I'm not sure about the coloured arm sleeves ....red, yellow, brown.

UFO's Gabrielle Drake's uniforms were "interesting":

I did attempt to explain that earlier in the thread, actually.

The Air Force Space Command, now the United States Space Force, was formed in 1982 and had this badge:

which still bears a passing resemblance to the Starfleet Command Badge (and Star Trek, IIRC, was first broadcast in 1966):

Yes, USAF Space Command has been around since I was 30 though, admittedly, the new insignia does resemble what Captain Picard and his crew seem to wear!

However, I prefer the ARSE equivalent. Much more subtle.
