This is where the expression "sleep tight" comes from. If you wanted a good nights sleep you paid the inn keeper to tighten the ropes by twisting the loops on the side and ends

Re: Double bed.

new mattress definitely, a second hand base would be fine, I don't see a problem with that.

Re: Double bed.

Definitely buy a new mattress. There was someone on here once trying to offload a manky old mattress but personally I wouldn't want to lie on it.

Yes,I agree, king size is better, but I can't afford one SP,..you are right, bed bugs do live in second hand ones,...thank you everyone,I appreciate your advise,..I have just been up to a furniture place, which has been here for years,I have furnished my house with most of their furniture,..ordered a brand new divan, with a pocket sprung mattress, delivering Thursday ,I will post a pic,I've been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for months,so looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed,..the divan also has 2drawers,..I did look at second hand ones,at another furniture warehouse,..they were all piled together, and I could smell them,yuck,....but must say, they had fridge freezers, furniture, washing machines, etc, etc, the good ones were all sold, some looked brand new,all of this stuff is donated.
