Yes but it's perfectly easy to follow.
The chaper headings are quite clear... February, July, February, July etc.
February being the nightmare plane journey, and July the court case.

You know right from the early chapters exactly what happened to the baby, whereas I gather it's supposition in the tv adaptation, and I suppose all will be revealed at the end.

The book's better!!

Re: The Cry.

Is it about the baby killed by a dingo?

I just read a Ruth Rendell story about a baby swapped with another, then I picked up my library book and I hadn't realised it's about a child being abducted, now this program, seems to be a popular subject.

No, Tessa, that was "A Cry in the dark" - and based on a true story. This is fiction - am looking forward to reading it.

Re: The Cry.

Tonight it became clearer, I think...

The father and mother are framing his ex, have the baby safe somewhere, so he can get his daughter back, I think?

Re: The Cry.

After watching last week's episode I read reviews of the book online and know what happened to Noah - but didn't read on so have no idea why the court case in 'future' flashbacks is in Scotland when all the action takes place in Oz?
I think the baby's sock was placed by Alistair to frame his ex wife and thus win custody of his daughter and also escape suspicion re Noah's disappearance.

Amazon have just delivered the book - so, if I am missing for a while it will be your fault, Ruthio!

Haha!! It's not the last page that gives it away, it's nearer the beginning!
