Re: Personal Hygiene

Apart from Mr M and my son and the two grandchildren last week haven’t kissed anyone. I hug the dog a lot though he doesn’t do social distancing .

I totally agree Morty! I have even got a pen pal that i can write to every day & be sure of an interesting reply!
I do worry that i may be on the first step to becoming a person that only communicates via the internet through!

Re: Personal Hygiene

I'm not a hugger, but when introduced to a bloke I'd always shake hands; a woman, I'd kind of air kiss, mwah mwah.

But funny .... in the last year or so I'd taken to touching knuckles on many occasions.

I'm thinking even when the virus is officially gone, knuckles will rule for me.

My cats are social distancing from each other today - on my (sorry) their bed - one on the pillows, one at the foot. Being as I have been chopping and vac-packing onions and peppers for the freezer - they are social distancing from me as well!

Re: Personal Hygiene

I don't hug many people since I retired and I miss hugging my grandchildren and don't know when it will be safe to do so.

When I saw my grandaughters (9 and 10) for the first time since lock down they both ignored warnings, burst into tears and rushed and huged me and got told off by their Daddy . I would't tell them off although there was a risk because my Daugher in Law had been to hospital for tests that week.

I sneaked a hug from the girls when I went there on Sunday and held hands with the 3 year old twins, I have missed so much precious time with them .

Re: Personal Hygiene

I can't say I have ever liked hugging and kissing and certainly won't be resuming doing so any time soon, if ever.

Nor me! I'm thinking of communicating through interpretive dance, at a distance of course!

Re: Personal Hygiene

Animals learn much by sniffing, observing and touching. We are animals. To remove oneself from touching others is to remove an essential natural trait.

Re: Personal Hygiene

I am a human animal without that natural trait.
