Probably. Seems a bit odd that they want to create a sideshow with its main selling point being that they were part of that circus.

To a degree, yes. But neither of them appear to be learning a new skill or trade. Instead, they want to use their "fame" and natural press coverage as a basis of income. Which is ironic since that's what they wanted to escape from.
