Flames spread twice as quick ??

Article in the independent,
Flames on Grenfell towers spread twice as quickly as expected??
Does that mean flames were EXPECTED to spread on Grenfell ??
Don't make sense to me?

From what you say, Donkeyman, it sounds like they knew the stuff was flammable? Just not that flammable! I really hope its just an error of grammar.....

All those innocent people living there and those in the know knew all the time . I suppose the fire people know how fast flames ignite on your average brick house but this cladding was a ticking time bomb . And there are still flats with this time bomb attached.

All about the money , all very wrong

Nobody could have imagined the force of the chimney effect on 24 floors. It's never been done before.

OK, tall buildings have burnt before but from the inside. This fire spread on the outside from bottom to top within minutes. (And I saw it burn). Materials, proven to be incombustible, burnt because of upward wind force between building and cladding. Impossible to replicate at the world's finest testing facilities.

Unless you know something we don't Donkeyman.

I don't think so. In this respect, I think that the fire service were taken by surprise on how quickly the fire spread and weren't expecting it to be so all-consuming.
