Re: Flames spread twice as quick ??

Do I remember correctly that the cladding was aluminium? With access to plenty of oxygen aluminium is very flammable. One of my naughty hobbies when at secondary school was playing with home made explosives and one of the ingredients was aluminium powder mixed with (Secret Stuff)found in many peoples garage, (no not petrol- a dry powder.)

OK, tall buildings have burnt before but from the inside. This fire spread on the outside from bottom to top within minutes. (And I saw it burn). Materials, proven to be incombustible, burnt because of upward wind force between building and cladding. Impossible to replicate at the world's finest testing facilities.

Unless you know something we don't Donkeyman.
I only know what l observed, like you dOOd?
Why use flammables on high rises at all ??
I suppose in this case though, , it seems to be the regulations were
bypassedd by falsified fire tests, as has become apparent now !!

That remains pure supposition and in any case is not yet the root cause of why this took place.
