Alex Salmond launches new Alba party in Scotland
Just released comes news of Alex Salmond launching and leading a new Scottish independence party called Alba."The party was registered with the Electoral Commission in January by retired TV producer Laurie Flynn.
Alba Party will stand candidates - including Mr Salmond - in the Scottish parliament elections on 6 May."

I can't see it will make much difference. Salmond says he is not competing with the SNP in any of the 73 constituency seats. He is hoping to glean a few of the 56 additional seats from the second vote. The election is only 6 weeks away and he is still looking for candidates to put on the list.
