Now the Americans want to ---

Janet Yellen, the United States secretary of the treasury since January 26, 2021, is calling for all G20 to set a common corporate tax rate in order to facilitate Biden’s plan to raise U.S. corporate taxes to fund his $2 trillion+ infrastructure plan.

What a bloody impertinence!

Why should we, or any country, allow our economies be manipulated just for the convenience of the Septics?

I say SOD THEM.

Re: Now the Americans want to ---

They know that having a corporation tax higher than communist Chinas will cause capital flight from the USA to countries with much lower corporation tax burdens (such as "the rest of the world").

Already the Democrats are breaking the constitution by approving Bidens infrastructure plans without a Republican vote or filibuster, just the Dems passing it through with their 1 seat majority (Harris) by declaring it a amendment to existing policy.

the Biden Administration is acting like a dictatorship within 4 months of coming into power, brought to them by "postal votes".

If you want to see more of this fiasco check out Bidens HR1 proposal for election rigging (voting).

It's not "bent" money, it's profit from conducting business that will be returned to shareholders, most of which will be corporate investors - that are the foundations of pension funds or and global banking that buy such things as government Gilts from world wide nations --- oh you surely understand, this is global finance 101 stuff.

For America (of ALL nations) to want to take control of the major control mechanism of the economy of a foreign nation is unbelievable. Or would be if it were not the present administration.

Did you not understand the " ploughing our own furrow" in my post
Todge?
I meant it to stand for the whole world !!
As to shareholder pay outs, l believe they should be subject of to
a reciculation tax to ensure that government's are able to function
properly without impoverishing their populations in order to do
so??
We must break the cycle of robbing the poor to feed the rich imo !!

It's the robbing of the rich to feed the poor that is the problem. In this country it's come to the stage of robbing the people who work to get their money to diverting a huge percentage of what they earn to give to the people who won't work and don't need to because of this institutionalised THEFT.

You confuse people who work with rich people l think Todge??
All that money locked up in stock exchanges should have a portion
fed back into the fiscus,
if the billionare millionaires were willing to
pay the same rate of tax as the working people then things would
be fine, but unfortunately they absolutely refuse to do this !!
Ergo,the recirculation tax

Investors DO pay the same rate of tax as the production line monkeys. Additionally in many cases they get hit with CGT AND corporation tax and more. In any case there's a great deal of work managing investments. Often at odd and unsocial hours.
