I agree Moscow. the one from the PM was equally as good. Both were clear on why we were doing it and that it was a one off. They also indicated what was expected from other so called civilised countries.

You're probably wrong on each and every point you make.

The missile strikes will reduce the Assad capability to carry out chemical warfare ....that's a good outcome.

The tension was not increased because Russia was kept in the loop and the attacks were targeted.

Trump, most definitely, is not an idiot. He is where he is by not being an idiot....You will not defeat Trump by writing him off as an idiot.

Britain and France getting involved was far from crazy and perfectly in line with their status in the UN and by spreading the responsibility across 3 powerful nations we send a united and formidable message to Assad, Russia and Iran.

An excellent and decisive move , one Kasparov would be proud of.

Its a war of words, according to reports the Syrians evacuated the site's days previous obviously having been warned.

Re: Missile Strikes launched against Syria tonight

Assad has used chemical weapons against his own people yet again, despite signing up to the Chemical Weapons Convention prohibiting the manufacture and use of chemical weapons. A convention designed to protect the human race from vile atrocities.

We could all chat about what to do at the UN, a bit pointless really as any meaningful action will yet again be vetoed by Russia. Or we could decide to target the facilities .

The action taken was the right action. To do nothing is to render international law as meaningless.

Just watching May's statement. She has repeatedly avoided answering questions about why she didn't consult Parliament about air strikes. She has now said she will speak to Parliament on Monday so they can ask questions.
Bit late then!

Re: Missile Strikes launched against Syria tonight

Hi

The chemical used in the last attack was chlorine, readily available to all.

Iran does not use Chemical Weapons,it is totally opposed to them.

This is because suffered over 100,000 Casualties from Chemical Weapons attacks from Saddam Hussein when Saddam was our friend and we stood idly by and let him use them on Iran.

The Iranians are still treating 30,000 survivors for the long term effects of these attacks.

Russia and Iran have done more, in a shorter time to wipe out ISIS then the West did in years.

It is my view that this attack, coming the day before the International Chemical Weapons arrive in Syria to investigate the Chemical Attack in Syria, will result in both Russia and Iran becoming even more determined to keep Assad in power.
