Re: WARNING! Britain braced for Mega Cyclone!

Oh dear, looks bad in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
91 mph in Northern Ireland, One person dead!. Poor things.
The wind has really picked up here in Shropshire, but still warm.

Would you believe that the window cleaner has just been? It's a wonder he didn't get blown of his ladder. (Might have saved me a few bob if he had )
As long as he finished them first!

Re: WARNING! Britain braced for Mega Cyclone!

Actually this windy weather is annoying! the two top windows on my bay window keep closing every time a gust of wind blows down the street, (which is every few minutes!). I keep opening them and the wind keeps closing them! (I don't have one of those window catches where you can place it through a hole, just handles that have a lock on them with a key).
Ho Hum, I will not lose this weather tug of war! Here we go again!

Re: WARNING! Britain braced for Mega Cyclone!

Yep its been bad here in NI and a woman has lost her life in Galway when the caravan she was in blew off the side of the cliff

Ive tree limbs down, a fence down, the fence post actually has snapped, and the compost bin is away down the fields

Power is flakey out here but completely out in the town

Main roads are very bad with tree limbs everywhere and at the vets the receptionist was saying one client had. to cancel as her car had been over turned

Still we are safe, the damage can be fixed

Re: WARNING! Britain braced for Mega Cyclone!

Our vicar daughter has just phoned, a bit shaken. She had only been home about 5 minutes when a large tree belonging to the property across the road from her vicarage came down in the gale, blocking the road (a bus route) and her drive. Fortunately her car was not hit, however she is unable to get it out until the tree has been removed, goodness knows when that might be.

Nature can be so cruel.

Oh his mum had just come to him and is feeding him, so I hope they both survive.
I hope so too Twink. Maybe mum knows it's time to learn and quick.

Re: WARNING! Britain braced for Mega Cyclone!

Yes it's hit us now , it's high gusts and very blowy . Drove from Bridgewater this morning to home and the car was being pushed crossways by the gusts . I so hate the wind as seen my 6ft fence panels often blow down in the past . All I can do is watch as they take on a life of their own

And all my plant pots are rolling around the garden too !
