My brother was saying (not verified of course) that the two who brought him in were Police Community Support Officers. Whatever the truth, the poor duty policeman was just weeks away from retirement. I dread to think what his poor family and colleagues are going through.
I did hear on the news that his name is not being disclosed until his family (who live overseas) are all informed.

You may not remember, but this forum was considered racist once, until the owner sorted it!
We just all need to be careful about blaming another race, unless we have proof that the person concerned is from that race!

I can only think that any amount of people who have darker skin would be highly offended if someone referred to them as black .In so many countries especially the middle and Far East a darker skin is associated with poverty and low status ( dark skinned people have been out working in the fields ) servants or worse slaves .

The problem is that lighter skinned people are all called "White" so it was decided that darker skinned people should be called "Black". Surely the only time we ever need to mention what colour skin they have is when it is neccessary to give a description... otherwise they are all just "people"!
I tend to think that anybody that uses the words " Non White" is using it to display a racist attitude.... which is wrong!

I have a friend who is from Central America she calls herself brown .She married a man form the Middle East whose skin was Mediterranean Colour .( the colour we all want to be !]
He died when she was still quite young and when she started dating men again although she was attracted to black men she always said no they are too black ! brown is more genteel !
She went on to marry another white man ,
In Barbados the fertility clinic reported that in cases where black woman wanted children by AI they nearly always preferred that the donor be white . So their children would be brown .
