'The Spinners' a folk group from Liverpool
I went with a friend and her friend who knew the group. We went back stage to meet them and were invited to their hotel after the show but my friend and I were scared/shy and did not go

It was either Herman's Hermits or the Walker Brothers at a disco in Manchester (The Oasis) probably in 1967.

Mine were the Beatles.

Plus I would mention I have also seen all the others mentioned already
Those were the days. 5/6d was a great bargain for nostalgia.

Re: First Group You Saw Live

We used to watch Shane Fenton and the Fentones practice at Crosby Hall in Mansfield Woodhouse in the early sixties Alan, but the first major act I paid to see was the Rolling Stones around 1964 at the Granada in Mansfield. I seem to think there were also the Ronettes and Dave Berry on the same bill.

Re: First Group You Saw Live

It wasn't a group - it was Adam Faith at Slough Adelphi (now long gone) on 3rd February 1962. My mum bought me the ticket for my 14th birthday. By that time my musical tastes had gone well beyond Adam Faith, but my parents - love 'em - didn't realise that. By early 1962 I was getting heavily into Chicago blues and not long after the Adam Faith concert I spent a lot of time lying my way into the newly formed Ealing Blues Club and (when I could get in) listening to Cyril Davies, Alexis Korner, Long John Baldry and others. By the end of that year I was a regular at the Ricky Tick Club in Windsor where the Stones played a weekly gig - great times!
