Tax scam ?

I have an email from the HMC saying I have a tax refund .
Have never seen one of these before so wondering if this is a scam.
Will ring them next week .

I don't think HMRC would contact you by email or telephone Muddy, it would be by letter to your address.....
Did the email contain your national insurance number?

Lordruthio received a letter with a cheque!!

But no email.

HMRC don't like to contact anyone even when it's genuine, so I reckon it is probably a scam.

Muddy, it's a scam.

I have had warnings from our local police and neighbourhood watch about this particular scam.

Definitely a scam and if you do decide to phone HMRC then do not use any phone number on the email, get the number from the phone book...
