Re: Are we more constipated than we think?

Been there, done that, and donít need a T shirt. After my prostate op, I was very constipated and also shortly after I could not pee. That was very very painful and had to have another op.

Prunes will almost certainly help with constipation.

OOh don't talk to me about constipationI had it for 2 weeks so went to the Drs. He gave me these huge tablets to put up my back passage for a week, 3 times a day, morning noon and evening.

When I had used all that he gave me he asked if they worked.
No I said now I can't even open my back gate

Oh dear - childhood memories of being spoonfed 'Syrup of Figs' every Friday night at bedtime - whether we needed it or not!

I have never experienced constipation - so maybe it did some good - or maybe i am just lucky. It certainly doesn't sound very pleasant.

Well I had diverticulitis, although I didnít know until I was hospitalised and had to have surgery, pooing in a bag was not pleasant, although you get used to it, but I never suffered from serious constipation, and when the bag was taken away and everything went back to normal, I was told I could eat what I like, but when I had a hernia op a few years later, THAT was very painful to poo, all the straining hurt,
