Re: Non EU countries
Every country has it's own competitive advantage (or not). Some like Saudi are oil rich, others like China have adapted to become a manufacturing powerhouse by paying very low wages. But plenty of countries are being exploited and aren't doing well at all. Every country has its own problems.Re: Non EU countries
Re: Non EU countries
Some have said our competitive advantage was that we formed a good link between English-speaking countries and the Commonwealth with the EU, particularly links between the US and the EU. The City was the most substantial example of this and our reputation for being a politically-stable economy where investors can be sure their money is safe. Services are becoming such a major sticking point in negotiations. They are being ignored and they form about 80-90% of our economy. We cannot compete on manufacturing. We can compete on innovation but that's never been harnessed properly and in itself is still a service.Re: Non EU countries
OGF in this day and age wars are fought by economic means. If you have no economic clout you have no power in the world. This is why some countries (who we may consider not to be great friends) were so supportive of Brexit. They would like nothing better than to destroy an economic union.Re: Non EU countries
