Re: The Yorkshire Pudding!

I must point out that I use a measuring cup not a beaker. The half cup in question is one from a set of four like Americans use.

Judd, when you pour your batter in the hot tin, how far up the tin does it come - I mean when it is just poured in, not once it's cooked.
Does it half fill the tin or what?

Depends on the size of your tin. With that tin of mine it's about eighth of an inch deep. You do need to have a decent amount of batter though or it won't rise.

1/8th deep? Blimey, that barely covers the bottom of the tin then!
Perhaps that's why mine never rise properly, sounds like my batter is too deep.

Re: The Yorkshire Pudding!

I've used Judds recipe for quite a while and it always turns out fine...I was shamed into trying it after admitting I bought Auntie Bessie's puds.

I use a cup cake tray though rather than a big one...it makes ten individual puds

Thanks Judd

Re: The Yorkshire Pudding!

I use a trivet and stand the joint over the Yorkshire batter whilst it's cooking.

The sides of the Yorkshire rise up and the sediment of the meat drips onto the middle bit.
It is so tasty.
