Re: The Gardeners harvest 2014

I picked 4lb of runner beans today off my one small row and froze them.
I think this is my best year ever for beans .

The perpetual strawberries are not doing a well as I had hoped.

That there is a lot of beans!

Is your perpetual strawberry plant(s) new?
The first year we planted ours, we didn't get too many.
But since then, we've been getting oodles.

Wow that's a lot of beans Meg, mine have barely set yet, a real disappointment after last year which was a terrific crop. We have started eating the French beans however, and we are having plenty of salad from the garden which is always a delight..

You'vebeaten me to it Meg, I'll be picking my first lot this coming Sunday. There does seem to be a good crop - in fact everything is doing well this year.

Re: The Gardeners harvest 2014

I have a nasty feeling my garlic is going to fail this year. The wretched things are flowering! Never had the problem before - any ideas why? I'll have to make a note of "Provence Wight", forgotten what variety I put in.
