What is is with people, especially politicians? When asked a question they begin their reply with "So,...." it's driving me nuts ... but then they seem to have forgotten that other favourite of theirs, "fundamental".

I'm so glad someone else finds this drives them nuts! I started a thread on the same thing a while back, but nobody else seemed to find it as irritating as I do! It seems to have become the new 'er'...

It's as if they'd already answered the question, but, you missed it so... they're adding, "so , anyway like I just said..." it's a way of making us think we've missed something!

I like regional accents - they are interesting - but sloppy speech ... no, I loath it - especially from those who should know better. There seems to be a trend among the radio presenters to pronounce the words 'the' and 'to' as tuh! Makes me want to scream at the radio. Don't even mention the lazy 'should of'' instead of 'should have', or 'can I' instead of 'may I' !!

I have one driving me up the wall from announcers - 'Wemb-e-ley'
Always thought it was 'Wembley' always heard it as Wembley - now it has become Wem-belly - sounds daft ......
