Unfit to drive?

How about this I saw in the paper today - "Transsexual people have been banned from driving in Russia, after the government declared them unfit due to "mental disorders".

Unbelievable. Be interesting to see what would happen if they tried that here?

I know that if you are diagnosed with a mental illness (depression, schizophrenia etc...) you can have your ability to drive questioned, but is is ONLY a self assessment and if you declare that you're fine, then that is that.

For your driving licence to be BANNED is completely unjust.

Yes, I have my own views on transsexualism, but to ban them from driving is just ludicrous.

It's shocking how Russia is treating anyone different, how they treat gay people is no better than how some of the extreme middle eastern countries do. It's very dangerous to be different in todays world.

My favourite film - can't watch it with out dressing up and joining in though ! Would be honoured to be driven by any of the cast

An old pal of mine ten years younger than I has just been dognosed with early stages of Dementia. His doctor has told him its his duty to inform the DVLC. My pal is devastated! I see no change in him whatsoever other than a little memory loss, but then most of us have got some sign of that if we own up. He lost his wife suddenly a couple of years ago and is now dreading his life to come.
