I met a Jackdaw many years ago in Mousehole, Cornwall.

It was tame and could talk, or so the sign on the cage said, but I heard it saying Hello as people walked past the cage to the gift shop.

As I came alongside the cage I looked at it and said "How are you boy?"
It looked at me for a while but didn't reply so I walked on, then it said "OK!", which astounded me!

To be honest Bob, I'd rather watch a Jackdaw over a "talent" show any day! stevmk2

Re: That dam bird.

This is a very naughty bird, I appreciate that it wants somewhere to roost but why can't it hang out with all it's mates on the various cables that hang over our street. Of course being a bit soft, I would not do anything to harm it but why will it not accept a small bribe or a polite request to leave. There is no need for " fowel "language. Or even raised voices. I am quite prepared to solve this disagreement over roosting rights in a civilised manner, providing that I win and he goes.

If you only watch odd programmes you are spoilt for choice with the current offerings.

You see, my problem was
a) It was very dark outside and even with the torch I could only really see his silhouette.
b) My wife wanted to watch the TV.
c) Once you show you can get a result by slamming the door, I was requested to continue so she could watch the TV. Catch 22.

Bird watchig was not a option for me.
