These cold, clear waters run from the mountains near Babinda. They are easily accessible, but often missed by tourists.

Some give uninterrupted views all the way to the coastline and feature Mount Warning. Others offer stunning views of the Lost World wilderness area the stretches across the Queensland border and becomes Lamington National Park. This photo was taken at the Pinnacle Lookout. It's a short walk to the lookout platform through the rainforest. But then the vegetation magically changes and you burst out of the rainforest into a stand of a New England Blackbutt and grass trees! The vegetation then transitions into a drier eucalypt forest. Oh, about that view....well you need to keep your fingers crossed your visit coincides with clear skies. Even on a sunny day the misty clouds roll in and that amazing view simply disappears!

Agree, the patience these photographers must have is amazing, sometimes waiting hours to get that perfect shot, like this one.
