Re: Greatness over 50

Am I reading this right? It’s my fault that I have achieved so much because I am older? Therefore putting the young at a disadvantage?

Re: Greatness over 50

Pesta - Holy cow! That is exactly why I am writing the book in the first place. I am really tired of this idea being so pervasive in our age group. Resources are the name of the game in any achievement. Sometimes that looks like financial stability, sometimes like experience or wisdom. Regardless what form it takes, our travel through time has left us with more than society oftentimes recognizes and we (the aged) are poised for a sneak attack.

Meg - we have the advantage of experience, stability, wisdom, perseverance, and a host of other qualities and knowledge that comes with the passage of time. That is my take on it.

Rehab44 - nope, that is not it. Read again. You have an advantage, you are not disadvantaging anyone. I'd love to have a real exchange with you because in a real sense I am testing the thesis of my book. But, if you are just attempting to be snarky or clever, don't bother. This is a true and provable way of looking at things.

My wife has that same problem. I on the other hand look like I robbed the cradle. She has definitely aged more gracefully.

I hear and see a lot about younger people and I am convinced that if older folks heard this message more often, that we would start venturing into new paths and succeeding in a fantastic way more often.
At 78 I have ventured into as many paths as I want to.I am not sure now whether I would get to the end of the path, and they are all B***** uphill
