You need to look at how fast Gold Jewellery is going for on ebay, they buy scrap gold too. Also it is better to buy vintage second hand Jewellery as it seems to be worth more, and at the moment people are buying it as if there's no tomorrow...

I agree, good vintage gold or even silver jewelry is an investment. I sold two bracelets made from gold watch chains owned by my Gran & then my Mother, before they came to me they went for scrap as being too worn to use & I was very surprised at the money I got for them. If you have old stuff, it is worth money.
