Sciatica

I was so happy last week the sciatica had gone I could walk again easily . But now it has come back with a vengeance and I can’t sit or get up out of a chair . Now I know why they have those power chairs that launch you off them .
It’s blooming agony !

Re: Sciatica

You probably need the op I had nearly 25 years ago. Micro endoscopic discectomy (sp?) see your doctor about it.

Re: Sciatica

Thanks Bruce I had never heard of this.
God only knows how to get to see a doctor they all diagnose by telephone now.

Re: Sciatica

The only caveat I would put on that is the fact that it was over 20 years ago there might be something better now but it certainly worked for me.

Re: Sciatica

Hi muddy sorry to hear about your pain , I dont know if you have ever had reflexology specifically for this problem . Many years ago I suddenly got hit with this whilst walking completely out of the blue , after days of pain I went to have what I thought was either massage or physio but the lady said she was going to do reflexology . She specifically worked in the area of the ankle and the back of the ankle and up the leg and I went twice , it was uncomfortable and at times painful but it completely cured it . I have never had it since .

It may be worth looking in your area for holistic therapists who can do this . I wish you a speedy recovery

Re: Sciatica

Muddy, i'm exactly the same, its been two weeks now of not going out, I can only stand up for 2 mins in agony and I have to sit back down again. GP was suppose to ring me yesterday but he never. I have been taking Co-Codomol tablets and Heat Lamp, but still in agony.

Re: Sciatica

Muddy, I feel your pain - I had that. I tried lying on the floor and resting my legs flat against the wall for about 10 mins. That did help a bit. Hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks Susan
This is terrible I can barely move I went for a walk on Sunday six miles and was fine and them on Tuesday did some gardening and it struck and has been getting worse ever since . I will have to find someone . I tried a chiropractor last time I had it two years ago and it was so much worse after I never went again .Physio was the same to an extent they told me to stop doing their excercises.

Oh Goodness Susie two weeks of this I am hugging a hot water bottle . I will have to get some of those tablets I had some before ( over a year back ) but only took a couple and I think threw the rest out only a couple of weeks ago as not needed !
Hope it eases off soon for both of us .
