A vulnerable society

An example of how vulnerable our modern society is.

Coop in Sweden was subjected to a cyber attack yesterday that knocked out their entire cash register system, both manual tills and self scanning. As a result all Coop stores in Sweden are closed until further notice.

Re: A vulnerable society

My question is, what do these hackers gain from doing this?

Pleasure?....

What next?

I am being serious. The money was from a high street bank account. It was was (almost) all recovered but it was a nasty shock for the recipient. I can't say much more.
