I used to enjoy a little chat with the conductor or even better the clippie.

The Stagecoach drivers today just scowl and growl at you now. It's a fearsome experience just to climb aboad!

So true, I am not sure which is worse, bus drivers or GP receptionists...

It's a 2-person job, the driver should be able to concentrate on the road and not have to deal with stroppy customers etc. at the same time.

We do sometimes get the move-to-the-back-of-the-bus and seats-upstairs announcements.
