Stolen !

Feel a grump coming on this morning my niece had her adapted bicycle stolen from out side the flats this morning, she got it out of the cupboard and stood it outside, ran back in to pick up her bag and lock the cupboard and got back to find it gone.

Very annoying and the person who took it must have realised it was adapted for her use as the peddle on the left is virtually impossible for someone with a normal foot to use.

Police called - very sympathetic and agreed it's a nasty thing to do to a disabled person but hold very little hope of finding it.

So she has headed off in my car to work and will have to pay to park which is another annoyance for her.

Bike cost £300 with the peddle adaption so will have to save up again to get another.

Only good thing was her trailer wasn't on the back, so at least we still have that.

But what sort of person steals a disabled persons transport ?

Bloomin git ! Its worth asking around - someone may have seen it being pushed around .......

Dreadful.
Will her insurance not cover the cost of a new bike? £300 isn't a lot for insurance companies.
Lucky she can drive and good she can borrow your car.

Not sure what insurance she has I will suggest she looks into it though.

Lets hope she has, if she hasn't, what a shame.
£300 is a lot to fork out oneself but nothing for a big company.

Thats a very mean sort of theft Julie, whoever is responsible wont have any luck thats for sure, things like that always have a bad comeback on the thief, call it superstition or the hand of God if you like but thats what I believe.

There are some awful people out there, hope your niece finds it propped up somewhere once they realise.

Terrible Julie. It's most likely kids and when they've had their bit of fun on it they will dump it behind a hedge or something. (Probably there now). Well this is what happened to my grandaughter's bike anyway. It was the other local children who found it, they knew the bike and we offered a £10 reward (a lot to 10 year olds). I do hope you get it back quickly.

What a mean thing to do, I hope their conscience gets the better of them and they discreetly return the bike soon.

Julie - worth making a visit to all the local cycle shops to see if anyone has offerred the bike for sale or if they've been asked to repair the other pedal to turn it into a 'normal' bike.
