It's Armistice Day

Spare a thought at 11am today for the fallen, . . . the sad thing is it was supposed to be the war to end all wars but war is still going on.

I always pause for a minute on this day.

I will. I still think of it as Armistice Day, although it's been renamed Veterans Day here. ... not really quite the same thing.

Not too much to spare a thought for those fallen soldiers, BBC are covering it this morning.

I echo all that has been said -wars will never end -its part of man's nature I think.

It's a reasonable day for any services which may be happening. I don't think there's anything local - that was Sunday.
I know the Queen is off to the Abbey for a WW1 commemoration

A time to reflect and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

I was in Asda at 11, . . the tannoy system gave us an announcement just before 11am which I thought was a nice touch.

Re: It's Armistice Day

I was in the van, but pulled over when it came on the radio. Funnily enough, one van and two cars in front of me, and two cars behind me, all pulled over at the same time, so there we were, all in a row!

Doesn't cost a lot does it to just sit and remember for two minutes.
