Re: Glorious mud

It was a bit daunting to take on the work when I bought her last year but it's paid off, . . I was climbing slopes that had her standing nearly on her bum today, . . she's got the usual transfer G/Box which gives me 10 forward an 2 reverse gears, . . in first gear in low reduction she just creeps along, this is good coz too much acceleration just causes the wheels to spin, digging yourself deeper into soft ground.

On rough terrain you gotta keep your thumbs on the outside of the steering wheel 'else if you hit a rock the wheel can jerk quickly and break your thumb.

(just like in the Camel joke eh)

She's only has a 1.6 litre engine Joan, but because the gears are so low it give more power to climb slopes, . . it's like the gears on a mountain bicycle, the lower they are the steeper you can climb.
