Re: Agnes's Poems
If I Could Choose My Dreams
If I could choose my dreams, what would they be
A sun kissed isle in a tropical sea
A business magnate, of corporate size
Or imagine I could reach for the skies.
An adventurer to conquer the world
uncharted maps I hope get unfurled
Should I dream of wealth and riches untold
money no object, with diamonds and gold
A film star, an author, someone of fame
where everyone knew me, just by my name
Whatever would I dream, what should it be
But these dreams are not mine, none I can see.
To lie in the sun, letting life pass by
then there's big business, the stress and the lies
Or fame and fortune, oh perish the thought
None is of value in my dreams I've sought
They're all about me, and none about you
I am glad that these dreams rarely come true
