Nov 5th

These were some of the fireworks over my house tonight from the public display nearby.
Very pretty, but the noise was horrendous!!

Well captured Mups

It's been very noisy here tonight too, seems to be more fireworks going off than on the actual day itself...

Re: Nov 5th

Same here Mups. There've been more let off tonight than any other night. I'll be scouting about in my garden tomorrow and doubtless finding some of the larger dynamite looking sticks.

Same here, Morty. I shall have to clear the garden, and wash all the ash off my car. Bloomin' nuisance it is.

Killjoys fairly quiet round my way, economics will be playing a part. Even the larger displays seem muted in comparison to years past.

Re: Nov 5th

It was like Beirut here again last night. I live in an ex-council house on the edge of a large estate where most of these people don't work. Where on earth do they get they money from besides their benefits to set fireworks off constantly banging every evening from Nov 5th till now?! Our dog is scared sh**less walking in and out of every room, and trying to get her to settle down in her bed near under the stairs. No doubt there will be another night of it. Surely they should be some kind of law for all this?

By the way Mups your picture looks spectacular

Re: Nov 5th

Very few were let off yesterday. Normally the school right next to my flats has a display and my neighbour friend and I spoke of it yesterday when we met up, saying perhaps cost has prevented it. I half expected them to do it last night, but nope! Our Council cancelled the public display on Thursday, literally 2 hours beforehand, citing bad weather. So nothing really around here, just the few odd ones. And yes of course, late at night! But nothing like previous years, thank goodness.

Re: Nov 5th

I think there were less this year and quieter but it could just be we now have dogs who don't mind them, previous years we have had so much fear it's been horrible but Betty likes them (sits on the window sill watching them) and Elsie ignores them completely.

Re: Nov 5th

Was surrounded by bonfires and fireworks last evening whilst sitting here watching TV. The smoke triggered an Asthma attack and my 'puffers' wouldn't touch it, so ended up with a Paramedic calling and checking me out.
